We have an exciting PART TIME opportunity for a qualified ASSET ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR to work for a DYNAMIC GOVERNMENT OWNED ORGANIZATION. .In this role, you will manage all aspects of the Fixed Asset responsibilities, including transactions, reconciliations and reporting, and manage financial accounting special projects as they arise.

FURTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Manage the maintenance of the fixed assets register to ensure we comply with our external reporting requirements.
- Review the asset under construction balances.
- Co-ordinate the fixed assets validation exercises
- Provide technical accounting oversight for the resolution of reconciliation issues as they arise.
- Drive the Fixed Asset, Projects and Property financial accounting processes, and provide accurate, relevant and timely reporting on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Assist the Manager to review existing processes within Corporate Accounting and re-engineer to improve efficiencies, including identifying where manual processes can be automated.
- Support internal stakeholders to ensure all relevant information is captured, and ensure relevant transactions (ie capitalisation, depreciation and rental revenue and expenses) are processed.
- Assist in interim and year-end Financial Statements processes through compilation of certain data, and assistance in audit processes to ensure satisfactory completion of the financial statements
- Supervision of two finance officers with a specific focus on staff development against key performance indicators, with a view to improved performance of both personal and team objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline, with sound knowledge and practical application of accounting standards and finance management practices.
- Demonstrated experience in the business and financial operations of a large commercial organisation, with exposure to accounting issues associated with fixed assets highly desirable.
- Sound communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with people at a variety of levels.
- Demonstrated problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with ability to operate effectively in a small team environment.
- Strong computer skills, including experience in the use of financial management systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office.
