Assessment Centre Assessor - Fixed Term Contract 12 month post
Location: Pirbright Selection Centre
Security Clearance required for successful candidates: BPSS

Assessment Centre Assessor required working at the Pirbright Selection Centre; you will be working as part of Capita plc, the UKS leading Business Process Outsourcing company and FTSE 100. This role sits within the newly formed Army Recruiting Partnership (RPP).

This position is crucial to the careful selection of candidates wishing to join the Army; you will be responsible for a group during the assessment process, working closely with the PTI and Interviewer Assessors.
The role will involve occasional requirement for overtime (overnight stay) paid time and half and weekend 1x month (time given in lieu)

Overview

It is the role of the Assessors to take overall responsibility for a range of exercises that candidate's will undertake during the duration of their assessment event. Working as part of an assessment team they will ensure that the candidates are effectively briefed and motivated through the event, running sessions as specified and ensuring that candidates arrive for other assessment activities (e.g. fitness, medicals, interviews and testing) informed and on time. It is critical that the role holder works closely with each candidate to better understand, motivate and support them through the process. This will help the candidate give of their best through the process and improve the quality of assessment and decision making.

Responsibilities

* Take overall responsibility for a group of candidates on their assessment event
* Brief candidates about event
* Keep to schedule and run assessment sessions
* Motivate team and individuals to give their best
* Answer questions on army careers and the recruiting process and positively represent the Army
* Look after accommodation and supervise handing over and taking over of rooms as required
* Evaluate the candidate performance throughout the event and input into overall assessment

Training

* RPP - context, objectives, processes, procedures
* Responsibilities and context of their role
* British Army - history, life in the army, careers, cap badges etc
* Capita - overview
* Personal - terms and conditions
* Relevant legislation - H&S, Data Protection, Security, Equal Opportunities, Diversity etc

This will be completed within the first weeks of their employment. During this time individuals must prove, through testing and observation, that they have sufficient knowledge, skills, competence and confidence to deliver the service to specified standards (see Section 3 for details).

Once performing the role individuals will be given opportunities to develop through a combination of on-the-job learning, coaching, e-learning and courses, including BPSS Level A.
