Assembly Technician Job

ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in MINNETONKA, MN

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Discard or reject products, material and equipment not meeting specifications
- Lays out and assembles parts, subassemblies or machines within the complete range of machines manufactured with the aid of diagrams, blueprints, schematics, sketches, prototypes, Bills of Materials (BOM) or detailed verbal instructions with minimum supervision.
- Sizes basic parts.
- Ensures that the correct set and size is used.
- Performs basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Procures parts from the stockroom or racks, detecting and correcting defects in Bills of Materials, in conjunction with the Facilitator, Supervisor, Engineering team, and the Planner.
- Understands the KanBan system.
- Acts as a liaison with the Manufacturing Engineering Department on system layout, design, routing accuracy, and manufacturing improvements.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematics and must be able to layout and assemble machines/components based on drawings and detailed verbal instructions.
- Reads and understands shop orders and BOM's.
- Keeps accurate records of time spent on jobs and explains any discrepancies/problems as necessary.
- Follow Safe Work Practices and all environmental, health and safety rules.
- Performs testing of components and crates finished product (pumps and housing)
- Understands the reverse osmosis process (equipment).
- Understands how the tools and materials replenishment system operates (equipment)
- Performs any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Facilitator, or Lead.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in large mechanical assembly OR PVC cutting and gluing Assembler experience
- Demonstrates basic machine tool & measuring skills
- Learns, understands, and is able to implement all policies, practices and procedures.
- Able to work with minimal amount of supervision

BONUS POINTS

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred
