Assembly Technician

This position requires you to be on the front line of innovative research & development that will set the stage for future products and technologies. You must be a team player that is flexible and highly organized. Working closely with R&D Engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians and team members, you will:

- Qualify Circuit Boards going through test procedures.
- Assist in research experiments, including some mechanical assembly.
- Build and test electronic prototypes.
- Diagnose and repair problems using appropriate instruments.
- Oversee the certification of products through outside agencies.
- Support the Operations & Engineering groups to improve the capability of manufacturing processes and tool performance.
- Disassemble, clean and inspect parts and pieces of the machinery such as probe cards, sockets and load boards in addition to other mechanical and electrical components.
- Test production assemblies and sub-assemblies for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications.
- Interface with other departments in the execution of duties to ensure the orderly flow of materials and information.
- Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models.
- Utilize basic technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability.
- Provide evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of internal and external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation.
- Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals. Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.
- Train other team members through technical communications and/or presentations.
- Lead compliance and quality activities by looking for defect trends, learning about quality issues and concessions and passing information to other technicians.
- Provide technical assistance by telephone or in person to customers, field service personnel, or suppliers
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

- 2 year Electronics Technical Associates Degree
- 2+ years' experience as an electronics engineering technician
- Experience using Oscilloscope, multimeter.
- Excellent written English
- Experience reading schematics, diagrams and layouts.
- Ability to build circuits from a diagram
- Reasonable soldering skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate openly and effectively with a diverse group of professionals
- Good skills with Microsoft Office tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
