ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer

An ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer is required to work for one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of satellite systems, based in Stevenage (or alternatively Portsmouth). This is a six month contract role initially with potential for extension.

Outline Job Profile:
The main focus of the work is deployment of advance communications and scientific satellite payloads employing state of the art digital processing techniques. Activities range from complex algorithm development and simulation through to state of the art digital hardware design for flight products. Work is conducted within an integrated project environment involving close working relationships with payload, systems, and hardware & test engineers.

Activities include:

Requirements definition
System architectural design
Laboratory demonstrator development
Algorithm design and simulation
Digital hardware design and simulation

Qualification and/or Skills:
Essential: Analytical skills with excellent degree in engineering/numerate discipline.
Desirable: Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing, algorithm design

Previous experience:

Desirable: Simulations using - C/C++/MATLAB FPGA Design/Digital Hardware
