Area Operations Engineer

Good Morning

A very well-known food organisation based in the North East have a requirement for an Area Operations Engineer. The contract will initially be for a 3month period with the scope of an extension or permanent role.

Overall purpose:

- Working as part of the Operations team within their designated area and reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, the Area Operations Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing the Maintenance strategy for the equipment within their area ti optimise plant availability and reduce maintenance costs.

Leadership
To be accountable for:

1.Ensure planned tasks are executed using all available resources based on agreed timeframes, budgets and priorities and to agreed standards using a combination of plant, process and maintenance knowledge.

2.Manage and report on individual and departmental KPI's to ensure targets are being met

Technical
To be accountable for:

1.To develop, implement and optimize the planned maintenance programme for assigned assets based on agreed targets and KPI's and in line with global and regional Best Practice.

2.Use available information to identify, plan and prioritize maintenance work within their assigned area.

3.Develop Work Methods, Risk Assessments and any other supporting documentation required to complete maintenance work within their assigned area safely, efficiently and effectively.

4.Identify, organise and manage contracted service requirements where necessary.

5.Manage spare parts inventory for assets within assigned area to maximize availability and minimize inventory value.

6.Facilitate Root Cause Analyses following equipment failures within their assigned area to determine actions required to prevent repeat failures.

7.Facilitate RCM and FMEA's for assets within their assigned area and implement changes to maintenance strategies based on outputs.

8.Initiate Continuous Improvement activities within their area focused on increasing reliability and reducing maintenance costs.

9.Implement Operator Asset Care within their assigned area.
