Area Manager

The Area Manager is the overall responsible for agreeing, planning & managing the development of driver assistance feature, achieving feature and change request maturity targets, defect target curve in collaboration with their algorithm function owners and algorithm function delivery owners and customer function owners for a specific set of feature clusters.

* Monitors and champions implementation of improvement measures that have been agreed in the R&D realignment (e.g. optimised defect management process)
* Takes up and solves escalation points while moderating through the weekly schedule in the area himself and tries to find solutions with a minimum of further escalations
* Identifies and manages all required actions that are necessary to achieve feature ramp-up, defect ramp-up/down agreed with customer
* Manages bottlenecks: agrees and sets priorities with Customer Function Owners, Domain Leaders and external partners with regards to sequencing of defect analysis,critical fixes, change request development
* Proactively manages external partner bottlenecks that the Algorithm Function Delivery Owners cannot solve. If no solution can be found within the team, escalation to the Technical Project Leader in Project Change Control Board meeting on a daily basis.
* Participates in daily Project Change Control Board meeting and reports on KPI Status required measures to achieve weekly goals that are beyond his control need to be escalated during this meeting
* Defines, implements and participates in an adequate meeting structure with Algorithm Function Owner, Algorithm Function Delivery Owner and Customer's Function Owners that allows achievement of area KPIs (Feature Curve, Defect Curve, I-Step Content, targets & Top Issues)
* Software Project Management incl. planning & tracking, problem solving & escalation, change management, requirements engineering, quality reporting
* Assure overall area deliveries on time and on KPI targets

VORAUSSETZUNGEN:

* Embedded Software Engineer with focus on Algorithm Development
* More than 5 years experience in Algorithm or Software Project Management, Functional Domain Management for complex consumer or automotive ECU devices from requirements to final start of production.
* Preferably automotive background
* Embedded SW development expertise (C, C++)
* Team worker with a demonstrable track record of working with initiative both within and across functions
* Excellent communicator both on engineer and management level
* Ability to communicate complex technical topics on management level and establish and maintain trust within workteam and customer
