Architecture Module Lead Support

My client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in China, North West of Shanghai, is looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer for their Manufacturing Engineering division on a long term contract basis.

Position:Architecture Module Lead Support
Location:Whitley, West Midlands

Position Description:
The AISwe are responsible for the delivery of all Air Induction systems and Exhaust systems for the products.

Key Responsibilities:

To support the Architecture Module Leader responsible for the Platform to deliver into programmes, through attendance at critical programme meetings, input into programme reporting on behalf of the COC and gather data and metrics relevant to their allocated programme.
Provide support to the Architecture Module Leader for a specific programme(s)/component(s).
Support Lead Component Engineers in ensuring all programme design solutions meet programme targets for cost, weight, time and quality.
Drive the resolution of cross functional, technical & manufacturing issues as AIMS Champion, and support engineering change where required, escalating when necessary.
Manage AIS & Exhaust Redbook content in line with programme targets and commodity strategies. Collate data to input into reports and metrics for the programme, including QCWT health data.
Produce reports for delivery to the Programme Leader.
Capture issues and track progress, reporting these up to the Architecture Module Leader.
Support Lead Engineers in inputting to AIMS.
Respond to ad hoc requests for reports and information from the Programme Leader.
Track and report progress of engineering deliverables.
Track and report performance against QCWT targets, flagging risks to these early.
Build relationships with all module team members.
Support the Module Leader in liaising with other functions (eg, AME and purchasing) to ensure timely input from them.

Experience Required:
Sound engineering background but does not need to be specific to AIS & Exhaust systems or automotive Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of computer literacy especially MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).

Experience Preferred:
Background in Programme Management of complex and multiple projects in an engineering environment or Background in powertrain automotive component/system delivery with aspiration to develop into a programme management role Minimum requirement of A level qualifications (or equivalent), with GCSE passes (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a Science/Technology subject.
