Architect / System Engineer

System Engineer.The candidate will be responsible to conceive and develop a broad range of communication, information and transport systems. The candidate will perform key aspects of architectural design by working in close relationship with the
engineering team, the business unit and the technical directorate. Responsibilities will include:Define and propose innovative solutions allowing to meet customer requirements in compliance with product / system technical strategy,Analysis of customer
operational needs and requirements, system architecture design, and build up concepts during bid or program phase of complex communication systems or transport systems,Assess technique and technological choices to ensure the best tradeoff between
customer requirements, technical solutions consistent with schedule, costs, make-or-buystrategy, producibility requirements and risks & opportunities,Conceptual design during the business development phase, including definition of technical roadmap.High
degree of creativity to collect building blocks of existing systems into a versatile information system / transport system.Integration and validation philosophy on system level for different system configurations.Perform other duties as assigned.Stay
vigilant of technological developments in the transportation domain and in the communications, optronics and vetronics integration in vehicular and soldier platforms.Regular travel within Europe.Required level of studies or experience:Engineer in
electronics or informatics with at least ten years of experience in transport, telecommunication or similar systems. Knowledge and skills:Profound understanding of electronic hardware and software design principles.High level knowledge of Transportation
systems (route control, train control for main lines, train control for urban lines, passenger services, road tolling systems, telecom for transportation) and high level knowledge of tactical networks, infrastructure networks and/or satcom networks.Good
knowledge of legislation, rules & regulations applicable in Transportation systems or capable to assess adequately to ensure that the technical risks are identified and mitigated.Comprehension of network design and architecture.Strong background of
communications systems (HF, VHF, UHF, GSM, Satcom, ).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Innovative, creative, good team player. Ability to build contacts with internal and external key actors.Good presentation and communication skills.Good
