Architect/Layout Mechanical Engineer

Our leading international Semiconductor partner is looking for Architect/Layout Mechanical Engineer. You will deliver high level mechanical system layout architecture that enables functionality and optimises cost effective engineering of new systems. The Architect Mechanical Layout reports to the team leader Mechanical Development Applications and is operational within multidisciplinary projects.

Job Description
Creation and investigation of layout concepts. Discuss with projects and sectors. Come up with well-considered choices, validated against system requirements.
Investigate serviceability. Define concepts. Validate against test specifications.
Validate concept on high level requirements regarding transportability and install at customer site
Definition of high level volumes and technical interfaces. Monitor that projects stay within agreed volumes. Make use of your creativity and helicopter view to find solutions in case of conflicts.
Knowledge transfer to production and other relevant groups
Contribute to system roadmaps Coaching and training on the job of mechanical engineers in the team.
Setting direction in and deployment of the Way of Working (a.o. using V-model, PGP process, design reviews)
Contribution to the development of a state-of-the-art, high-tech measurement system. Challenge to meet performance specifications, quality aspects, time considerations and cost.

Required Experience
At least 3-5 years of experience in creating new machine concepts (or large complex modules). Covering all aspects like layout, serviceability, transportability, install, performance, etc
Basic knowledge of thermal management, statics and dynamics
NX (or other 3D design tool)
Familiar with FEM and related tools.
