Architect

Our client is recruiting for an Architect to join their Buildings & Infrastructure Services team, which is part of our Real Estate Solutions Business. The successful candidate will help strengthen the existing multidisciplinary team providing technical support and architectural capability to the team. This role will be primarily based in Preston but the Project is based in Glasgow, hence there is a requirement to travel to Glasgow and possibly other locations in the UK as part of this role and candidates should expect to spend time away from home as projects require. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking for to develop or expand on their architectural and project management experience in a very challenging and fast paced expanding business environment.

Main Responsibilities:

This particular role encompasses the independent validation of the architectural design philosophy of new world- class manufacturing facilities in Glasgow. Currently the project is at scheme design stage (Riba D) and this review activity will enable the project to progress to detailed design and beyond. The designs requiring validation include large manufacturing halls, material process flows with complex crane arrangements, external works and supporting office accommodation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

*Degree qualified in architecture or equivalent qualification
*Registered Architect
*Post graduate experience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects
*Experience of BIM and in particular use of REVIT software and AutoCad
*Good Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
*Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Project)

This role requires an individual who has the ability to write and present comprehensive professional reports and articulate complex engineering concepts clearly. It is imperative the successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, partners and suppliers and when involved in team discussions
