ROLE: AQUISITION SAFETY MANAGER

LOCATION: ABBEY WOOD, BRISTOL

Duration: 4 months Initially

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Acquisition Safety Manager (ASM) is responsible for advising the Log Com, Team Leaders, Project team leaders, and the Project Safety
o Safety and Environmental Management Plans (SEMP) requirements;
o Setting safety and environmental targets;
o Safety and Environmental Case (SEC) requirements;
o Determining project safety probability-severity Matrix;
o Determining project environmental frequency-severity Matrix and definitions.
- Co-ordinate and maintain a register for:

o Project Safety Environmental Case Reports (SECRs);
o Hazard Logs, and if used eCassandra;
o Project safety
o Progression of new equipment under review;
o Cat A and B risks, including control measures and proposed mitigation strategies;
o Medium and high adverse environmental impacts, including control measures and proposed mitigation measures;
o Beneficial environmental impacts, including measures to further enhance them; - Liaise with the DE
- Ensuring a robust internal audit system is implemented;
- Ensuring that mandatory reports and audit reports are completed;
- Identifying best practice and disseminating it across Log Com.
- Provide specialist advice to Log Com staff on safety and environmental legislation issues;
- Undertake regular reviews of international conventions, treaties and protocols to which the UK is signatory and European Union (EU) and UK legislation to ensure the provision of current information to Log Com staff;
- Co-ordinate requests for legislation exemptions through the DSEA;
