Our client, a world renowned heavy engineering company, has a new contract opportunity for a Quality Engineer/Quality Technician to work on APQP processes at their Peterlee facility.

The APQP Quality Team exists to support the establishment of APQP processes throughout the organisation. The main focus for the team is to support the design elements of production teams.
Training will be given in the client's own APQP quality processes and standards', meaning previous experience of APQP is desirable but not essential.

Key Duties:

* To Document requirements, liaise with the Design Team members to set targets, review and approval of Requirements and maintain requirements in the relevant database.
* To create FMEA documents; facilitate population of DFMEAs and ongoing maintenance
* Generate design deliverables report to document design process, required targets and verification plan.

Our client is looking for the following skills and experience from an APQP Engineer:

Necessary skills and experience:

* Experience of engineering design processes
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word
* Excellent interpersonal skills - able to facilitate discussions with large groups

Desirable skills and experience:

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
* Knowledge of other APQP tools, for example, FMEA
* Experience of hydraulics or electronic control systems.
