Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP)

My client is currently recruiting for a temporary Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to work full time for approximately 3-6 months in Cambridge.
This vacancy requires an immediate start, once CRB is applied for and returned. Randstad Care are consistently looking for temporary AMHP's throughout the year based in different locations throughout Cambridgeshire, Beds & Norfolk, so it is likely that your contract will be more on going.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Referrals for assessments in relation to the Mental Health Act 1983
- Interviewing patients and ensuring that the criteria for detention is met should detention be the most appropriate way of providing care and treatment
- Consulting with relatives, carers, advocates, and liaising with psychiatrists, GPs, police and ambulance services
- To co-ordinate the medical assessments in line with established Codes of Practice
- To make recommendations in respect of Community Treatment Orders under Section 17A MHA 1983

As an AMHP, you must be a qualified social worker and have undertaken the AMHP training course approved by the HCPC. Previous experience as an AMHP is essential.
