Apprentice scheme manager/learning and development manager

Our Central Government client is seeking an experience Apprentice Scheme Manager to join the Leadership and Capability group in coordinating the programmes and activities that support learning and development. The successful candidate will be working with all directorates and heads of professions to agree delivery priorities.

Main responsibilities:

Acting as first point of contact for the recruitment and ongoing support of apprentices into the organisation
Supporting the Graduate programme scheme and other learning development initiatives
Developing and understanding of the principles of the apprenticeship scheme,
Mapping and creating an associated Portal page in order to build an apprentice community across the organisation including the line managers
Ensuring proactive business support is delivered
Identifying additional learning developments and activities to support the apprentices in achieving NVQ Level 3

Essential criteria:

A qualification in a learning and development field or equivalent experience
Proven track record of delivering successful learning and development management across public sector organizations, ideally central government
Understanding and knowledge of apprenticeship/graduate schemes
Previous experience of working in a fast paced customer focused team
The ability to meet deadlines and prioritise as needs demand
