DURATION: 6 month open ended contract (with possibility of extension)

END CLIENT LOCATION: NYC, NY 10014

HOURS: M-F, 9p-7a

PAY: $23/hr

The support Specialist will troubleshoot and triage all web solutions applications supporting varies Websites.
The support Specialist will troubleshoot and triage all Windows & Unix-Linux, VMware Servers events including physical diagnosis of Servers and analysis of hardware failures.
Ability to coordinate Service Emergency Bridge calls w/multiple support teams.
Must have understanding of ITIL based processes (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management etc )
Provide support to end users and IT staff for technical problems related to software installation and operations of business applications.
Ability to triage and perform application and server restart procedures as specified in related runbook.
Physically monitor multiple consoles, take ownership of events, triage, and follow escalation procedure to engage Level 2 resolver teams.
Work with clients and product developers to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
Work with technology teams to make technical product improvement based on client requirements.
Ability to devise solutions to complex issues and able to create and/or update runbook and support procedures based upon the solutions implemented.

Qualifications:

Strong analytical and communication (written & verbal) skills.
NIGHT SHIFT REQUIRED 9:00PM-7:00AM COVERAGE.
Must work out of NY Data Center Operations at 55 Water Street.
Able to provide Holiday coverage on a rotational basis.
4-5 years' experience with software troubleshooting.
3-4 experience with Windows and UNIX technologies preferred.
Experience interacting with users in technical support role and very strong skills with regards to problem solving and maintaining good interpersonal business relationships.
Experience with local area and wide area network distributed computing environments with multiple hosts and server platforms.
2-4 years practical experience in system administration activities and broad knowledge of computer system hardware, software, operation system and utilities.
Knowledge of Java, Weblogic, VMware, Remedy, F-Secure/Putty and/or Market Data Real Time applications is a plus.
Knowledge of Remote Access tools such as KVM, ILO, VMware, Microsoft Terminal Service.
Knowledge of SiteScope. SCOM, Solarwinds, Topaz, Nagios, HP Openview and various other monitoring tools.
Working well with other technical and business teams, working well with end-users and providing resolutions to complex problems are required skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick resolution environment.
Must be a team player.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
