Applications Support Manager/Business Systems Manager - 6 to 12 month contract - circa £500 per day West London

Applications Support Manager/Business Systems Manager (other titles suitable candidates may have had include - Business Systems Manager, IT Services Manager, Support Services Manager, IT Operations Manager, Programme Manager, IT Service Delivery Manager) with experience managing the operational delivery of ERP/Line of Business Systems in the retail sector required for long term contract with our client based in West London/Middlesex near to Acton/Brentford/Richmond/Chiswick/Hammersmith/Twickenham.

Our Client, a leading retailer, is going through a major business systems transformation programme including the implementation and integration of MS Dynamics AX for retail. Having gone live at the first batch of stores they are now looking to bring on board an Applications Support Manager/Business Systems Manager as they prepare to go live at the remaining sites.

The primary purpose of the role will be to take the operational pressures away from the projects teams and be responsible for:

End Operational/IT Service Delivery to the business, focussed predominately on business systems/applications.
Implementing good operational support and system delivery process.
Managing Application rollout.
Strengthening/Managing Application Support team predominately 2nd line
Owning 3rd line issues ie escalating to project team and third party providers through to resolution
Managing knowledge handover to the business/other areas of IT

To be considered we would expect you to have worked for a retailer where you have managed the operational delivery of ERP/LOB systems (hospitality, distribution, travel or other end to end supply chain environment may be suitable).

Previous experience managing projects to implement service delivery and or implementing business systems/applications would be beneficial. Core personal strengths will include the ability to be open, collaborative and pragmatic but assertive when needed. You must be commercially astute/customer centric so that you can understand the business issues and deliver against the needs of the business. You will be familiar with ITIL and ideally have worked for reasonably sized fast paced and agile businesses. Experience of MS Dynamics AX would be beneficial although similar size ERP solutions like SAP Business 1, MS Dynamics Nav, JDA or other retail focussed ERP solutions would also work.
