Applications Support Engineer

As an Application Support Engineer within bank IT Systems - Client Data you are responsible to support, maintain and implement applications. You coordinate application deployments from different environments up to and including production, and make sure that the system remains in a healthy condition. In addition, you focus on ensuring the quality of the work you are doing.

You are responsible for the daily support of the Global Client Data Management System (GCDS) together with your colleagues, implementing LifeCycle Management and reducing operational risks. You also participate in gathering operational requirements and monitor them for realization. We are looking for a proactive person who always looks for opportunities to improve and realizes improvements. The GCDS team has adopted SCRUM and DevOps way of working.

The technical environment is a Linux, WebSphere. The application is based on the IBM Master Data Management (MDM) suite. Automating deployments (XLRelease, XLDeploy, Jenkins and GIT) and ensuring good monitoring (Splunk) for the environments is a priority. The system consists of a number of technical components, and is both batch as services oriented.
Your main focus will be, together with a Java developer, on improving the stability and predictability of the GCDS system, for example by adding extra logging and monitoring.

IT Systems is the IT provider of the bank Wholesale Rural & Retail. We provide the IT services in such a way that bank can achieve its defined strategic and financial objectives. Systems which are developed and managed by IT Systems are not only used in the Netherlands, but also by bank entities in the rest of Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia.
