Applications Support Analyst (SQL, Sharepoint) - 6 month

The role
Thales are currently recruiting for an experienced Microsoft Applications Analyst to be based at our Crawley branch. Reporting into the Team Manager the Microsoft Applications Analyst will provide a proactive service in the diagnosis and resolution of all incidents, problems, requests for service and change requests in line with the agreed SLA's.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities/Tasks for the Microsoft Applications Analyst:
-Ensure technical responsibilities are documented (Knowledge Base/ Checklists and Operational Acceptance) to support knowledge sharing within the team and the wider One IS community.
-Maintain and enhance Windows Sharepoints WWS3 in production and project environments within Thales UK
-General Applications - Develop, maintain or enhance bespoke applications that access corporate data in production and project environments
-Database Administration (DBA) for SQL Server Databases, in production and project environments, within Thales UK.
-Compliance to One IS procedures, best practices and site specific processes. For example implementing upgrades to existing systems in accordance with change Management process.

Skills, experience & qualifications required

Sharepoint Support
-Fault fix and enhance Windows Sharepoint Server environments (WSS3)
-SQL 2005 to 2008
-Good working knowledge of Sharepoint Architecture, framework, Security, Solutions and features.

General Applications
-Experience of Applications methodologies, configuration management and deployment of applications, application updates and basic troubleshooting for example using

Technologies such as:-
-Microsoft .Net development using Visual studios (.net 1.1,2.0 and 3.5)
-Microsoft Visual Basic 6
-Microsoft Access for user interface and database development
-Microsoft Office automation from VB6 and access SQL
-Experience with SQL Server versions from 7 to 2008r2 (ie7, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2)
-Experience in installation, configuration, administration, tuning, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
-Experience in the implementation, configuration and report design.
-Ability to understand and write complex T-SQL using the capabilities of each version of SQL Server.

Experience with Windows Server operating systems (2003, 2003 R2, 2008, 2008 R2) to allow deployment of web site applications and web services to Internet Information Services (IIS) within the
operating system.
-Be able to demonstrate the ability to impart knowledge and develop peer group and clients.
-Demonstrate the ability to acquire expert technical knowledge and be willing to gain MSP qualifications.
-Please note to be considered for this you must be able to obtain enhanced (SC) security clearance.
