Applications Support - 12 Month Contract - Government Department

- ACT LOCATION
- 12 MONTHS CONTRACT

DUTIES

- Manage and maintain Department's Software and runtime environment;
- Support data interfaces that use interchange formats such as AIS and OTH-GOLD;
- Develop and maintain components to support high volume interfaces;
- Provide support for Data correlation and fusion components;
- Provide input into capacity planning regarding Department's resource utilisation;
- Design, implement and monitor maintenance schedules;
- Experience with secure environment software implementation techniques;
- Provide problem investigation support and rectification;
- Plan and implement product upgrades as required and;
- Prepare and maintain relevant documentation.

EXPERIENCES/QUALIFICATIONS

- Relevant experience in supporting mission critical 24x7 systems;
- Knowledge and understanding of security issues and processes around ICT systems in classified environments;
- Experience supporting and maintaining applications in a VM Ware Virtualised environment.
- Experience in applications development languages such as C, C#, VB.NET, Perl;
- Relational database experience in SQL Server 2005 or 2008;
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint;
- ITIL knowledge;
- Project management knowledge;
- Support experience for Command and Control Systems such as HCS/ICS (GCCS);
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining high volume and high transaction applications interfaces;
- Relevant experience with providing detailed engineering support (level 3) as part of a technical support team;
- Experience and knowledge of Data Diode technology;
- Advance Oracle Sun Solaris or UNIX or Red Hat Enterprise Linux skills;
- Relevant experience Scripting languages such as Powershell, Unix Shell, VBScript and DOS batch;
- Experience with complex application development;
- SQL knowledge and experience;
- Demonstrated understanding of software development life cycles and software configuration management and;
- Ability to perform these duties in Oracle Sun Solaris, Microsoft Windows server and desktop environment.
