Applications Developer - PL/SQL & Oracle

Government Department seeking up to four Applications Developers (PL/SQL and Oracle) to join their team. To be considered for this position, you must have experience in an Oracle 10/11g environment including PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, SQL or CTL. Any knowledge of the superannuation industry is highly desirable.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

- Work with Business Analysts to identify solutions to issues
- Produce technical documentation as specified within the Systems Development Methodology (SDM)
- Develop code in accordance with the Department's Coding and Naming Standards
- Undertake unit testing and participate in code reviews/walkthroughs of all changes to ensure all changes meet business requirements as specified
- Follow change control processes to ensure all solutions are implemented efficiently

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

- Have experience in relational database technologies, preferably Oracle and DB2.
- Have experience in an Oracle 10/11g environment including PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, SQL or CTL (proprietary language).
- Have experience in Object Oriented Programming
- Have extensive knowledge and experience working with Oracle types, Nested Tables & multi-dimensional Collections
- Have demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with experience in interpreting business, legislative and user requirements.
- Have experience in following system and project management methodologies, including producing appropriate deliverables during each phase of a project.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in producing functional documentation as well as participating in knowledge transfer activities to other staff.
- Have experience in working in a project team and liaising with business and IT staff to resolve issues.
- Have demonstrated ability to work on projects with tight timeframes and deliver quality solutions.
- Be committed to coaching and mentoring permanent staff.

Please Note:
Australian Citizenship is required for this position. A current Baseline security clearance is highly desirable but not mandatory.
