This job contributes to client success by developing cost effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Analyzes system requirements and existing business processes and information systems. Under general guidance, the developer designs, develops, implements, documents, and tests changes to existing application programs.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assists in systems planning, scheduling and implementation.
- Analyzes business needs and translates business requirements and functional designs into technical designs.
- Assists with development of functional designs and resolves more complex design issues.
- Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements moderate to complex software applications.
- Creates prototypes, ensures deliverables are high quality and meet user expectations. Adheres to software development standards.
- Supports system and integration testing activities. May initiate and facilitate technical design reviews for updated and new development.
- Collaborates with project team to keep project on schedule.
- Creates and implements monitoring and optimization tools for managing large amounts of data.
- Contributes to software development standards.
- Participates in requirements gathering and functional specification activities.
- Develops and supports inbound and outbound application data transports.
- Performs cross-training and facilitates information sharing among team members.
- Resolves and helps mitigate production issues, on-site and/or on-call, using incident management best practices.
- Works with other business and technical teams to support resolution of end user inquiries.
- Contributes to the documentation of production support processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Analyzing, diagnosing and proposing solutions to user problems 6 years
- Application development and programming experience 6 years
- Providing support to various business applications 6 years
- Working with process owners and identifying information technology solutions that enable business process improvements 4 years
- Broad range of Java development skills
- Strong proficiency in creating and maintaining complex PL/SQL applications
- Proficiency with C# a plus
- Experience and proficient with general Scripting languages, preferences for PowerShell and Python
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Aptitude with IIS configuration and support
- Proficiency identifying and optimizing high load SQL statements
- Ability to use Oracle development tools: TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Tuner and OEM
- Knowledge in Linux (RHEL5 preferred) and Windows operating systems
- Experience with writing tools to enable production system troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to quickly learn new application systems and technologies
- Knowledge of basic project management framework and methodology
- Ability to accurately estimate design and development timelines
