Applications Developer - .Net/C#/SQL/Java

This leading, global, telecommunications company has an urgent requirement for an Applications Developer to join their team on a W2 contract basis.

This position will be responsible for development and maintenance of tools crucial to the efficient service assurance of a large wireless carriers network. You will need a good understanding of wireless network technologies and voice/data flow.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create tools to assist in monitoring and assessing new systems and technologies.
- Design and implement software programs to gather and report end to end performance data to quantify customer experience or network performance.
- Desigand implement mechanized systems to perform end to end tests, gather and process test results and display end-to-end customer perception of customers wireless network.
- Design and implement databases to store historical network data for analysing patterns in network performance.
- Create tools for proactively detecting network problems with CDMA and LTE networks.
- Ensure that network integrity is maintained through effective software design and practices.
- Automate processes using software tools and skills.
- Participate in latest technology research applicable to business needs.

Key skills required:

- Computer science or Engineering degree or equivalent
- Visual Studio/.Net 2.0 or 3.0 development experience with strong ASP.NET fundamentals
- Strong software experience with C#. VB.NET, C, C++, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, SQL Server 2005 and 2008, AJAX, HTML and JavaScript.
- Install, maintenance, and resolution of complex application and system issues for linux/Windows systems.
- Database experience with SQL Server 2005/2008, Transact SQL and general database objects (Tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, jobs, triggers).
- Proven track record in Extract/Transform/load (ETL) processing.
- Strong understanding and implementation of Object Orientated concepts.
- Must be willing and able to participate in code reviews.
- Desirables: Knowledge on wireless technologies, Microsoft certification and experience in Perl.
