Application Supporter - Unix/Linux & Shell Scripting (4158)

For a 6 month project at our client's site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

APPLICATION SUPPORTER - UNIX/LINUX & SHELL SCRIPTING (4158)

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

- BANKING, FINANCE AND/OR RISK KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED
- 5+ YEARS' PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE WITH UNIX/LINUX AND SHELL SCRIPTING
- 5+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN AN IT SUPPORT ROLE (IDEALLY IN FRONT OR MIDDLE OFFICE IN INVESTMENT BANKING)
- EXPERIENCE WITH SQL (IDEALLY ORACLE/SYBASE)
- Skilled in Incident-/Problem-, Release- and Change Management (from a production perspective)
- ITIL V3 certificate would be a strong plus
- Knowledge of multiple technologies is an advantage: Excel, VBA, C#/ASP.NET, Java, C++
- Batch/Control-M experience is a plus

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop a thorough understanding of the Credit Risk Environment
- IT Support for the reported issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Involvement in development tasks
- Monitoring of scheduled batch jobs, as well as the identification of process improvements (eg automation of the manual monitoring process)
- Responsibility for the OLA's and SLA's between IT to IT and IT to business
- Proactive communication of batch job delays to users and senior management
- Escalation of critical and high priority issues to the senior management
- Full root cause analysis and a detailed investigation of issues in the agreed time
- Ownership for the IT/incident tickets open in the area of responsibility
- Solid collaboration with the application development teams and the other relevant interfaces
