Application Support Engineer - English and French OR Dutch

As Application Engineer you are responsible for setting new application versions ('deployments') and 'bug fixes' in accordance with established procedures in acceptance, transition and production.

- You also monitor the application availability and performance, which you also report on, taking into account the applicable guidelines.
- You contribute to the drafting and automation of the deployment procedures and the setting up of monitoring for the applications.
- You are responsible for drafting and keeping all relevant documentation up-to-date.
- In addition, you offer 2-part support to the internal and external customers in case of operational incidents or problems, for example applications that crash.

Your profile:

- You have a bachelor degree in IT or equivalent through experience
- You have a number of years' experience as application engineer with relevant knowledge of:

o Operating systems Windows and/or Linux (as administrator)
o Virtual environments
o Web Servers (IIS and Apache)
o Application Servers, mainly Jboss, Tomcat, WebSphere (incl. ESB)
o Monitoring and alerting principles and monitoring tools (Tivoli, Scom, ...)
o Citrix
o Scripting (eg Powershell, Ansible)

- Knowledge of/experience with other IT applications such as networks, programming languages (eg C ++, Java, PHP), databases (MySQL, Oracle), ITIL, ... is an asset
- You are a communicative team player who can also work autonomously
- You are solution-oriented with good analytical skills
- You have an active knowledge of French or Dutch and a good command of the 2nd national language and English
- Drafting of Operation guides and manuals
- You are prepared to be part of a guard service (24h/7) with a regularity of about 1 week every 2 months
