Application Support Engineer (1st and 2nd Line)

Role and Responsibilities:

Our financial client is looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line support to internal customers using the Integration Manager application. Integration Manager is a Java-based application consisting of around 600 Java processes (JVM) running on a UNIX server using Oracle database. Working with a team of 3 Java Developers, the Application Support Engineer will take over support duties from them.

The client will be using Jira for support issues, so knowledge in this area is of great value. The Application Support Engineer will need to provide constant maintenance and support to the Integration Manager application, as this is business critical. The client will be building a support site in Confluence, so again knowledge in this area is beneficial.

Skills and Experience:

*Previous experience providing 1st - 2nd line application support.
*Experience of Java-based applications (ideally Integration Manager).
*Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is beneficial.
*Skills within documentation and process understanding.
*Any additional understanding of Java is desirable.
