APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER

- Location: Noord-Brabant
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: 3 months, with option to extend
- Hours a week: 40

DELIVERABLES:

Takes care of the incoming incidents, escalate when required. Execute changes in the hardware infra-structure.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Support Test Environment on Unix/Linux HW infrastructure
- Take ownership of the software development and test infrastructure as provided to the internal customer. The software development environment is used byappr. 1000 developers.
- Participate as technical expert in running projects within the IT CCP ST software group
- Define improvement proposals that focus on test system performance and process efficiency for end-users.
- Give support in solving difficult 3rd line incidents related to the development and test environment.
- Strong partner in discussions with the architects and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments

THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE WITH:

- Unix/Linux Hardware infrastructure
- Development and Test environments
- Multiple virtualizations techniques (Linux RHEV manager or Linux VM)
- Knowledge of Netapp storage, databases
- Sun Solaris knowledge is a pre

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solve issues on development and test infra environment, communicate with customer and implement changes.

SPECIALS:

- Stress due to issues from demanding customers.
- Shows initiative and problem solving attitude.
- Pragmatic, practical, flexible (occasional evening or weekend work) and committed to quality.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
