Application Support/Development Engineer

IT. Alliance has an immediate requirement for an experienced Application Support/Development Engineer for a customer site in the Dublin city area. This is an initial 12 month contract however there is an extremely high possibility of extending beyond.

The Application Support/Development Engineer shall be responsible for the day to day administration/support of the Application Server support function for all strategic projects and for the formulation of standards/procedures associated to the projects.

The Application Support/Development Engineer shall be responsible for liaising with other teams (both virtual and onshore) in the central areas to help resolve issues and to develop corporate policies on application configuration and deployment throughout the organisation.

ROLE:

- Managing iAS (or Fusion) in a Unix/Linux n-tier environment
- Operating in an Oracle database environment shared between multiple (20+) bespoke applications
- Working with the OC4J component of Oracle Application Server in a large-scale J2EE development (Oracle 10g or higher)
- Operating in an environment where business applications are written in Java and deployed to Oracle iAS (or Fusion)
- Working with the OC4J component of Oracle Application Server in a large-scale J2EE development (Oracle 10g or higher)

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience in skills transfer/mentoring would be an advantage
- Excellent command of the English Language both spoken and written
- Experience of working effectively within a team and good communication skills
- Must have at least 3 years' experience in the administration and deployment of J2EE compliant applications to Oracle Application Server or Oracle

This is an urgent requirement and looking for the person to start 1st week of December.
