Application Support Consultant (Migration) (Microsoft)(Sharepoint). We urgently require a consultant with a varied set of skills for a critical migration of applications, mainly but not exclusively Microsoft (AD, Sharepoint etc)

APPLICATION SUPPORT CONSULTANT (MIGRATION) (MICROSOFT)(SHAREPOINT) BACKGROUND:

The SME will be Embedded in a small team that will migrate a large number of server- and client-based applications and corresponding data on several networks from one set of computer rooms to another, whilst still providing daily support for these applications. The existing and new infrastructure will be provided for by another party. The infrastructure technologies are mainly Microsoft based, and the applications are a mix of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house developed applications using primarily Microsoft technologies (IIS, SharePoint, MS Access), and Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.

APPLICATION SUPPORT CONSULTANT (MIGRATION) (MICROSOFT)(SHAREPOINT) qualifications:

- A degree in computer sciences, and significant relevant experience
- Hands-on experience with application installation, configuration, deployment and operational support for Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house developed applications in a Microsoft environment
- Broad technical understanding of the operational infrastructure environment in which software products are installed and operated, to include Windows workstations (ver 7 and 8.1), web-Servers, application Servers, databases, MS Active Directory, Windows security policies, security devices
- Significant hands-on experience with complex application and data migrations
- Awareness of AD forest migration impacts on SharePoint applications
- SharePoint 2010 and 2013 SharePoint installation and farm administration experience
- Experience migrating SharePoint farms
- Knowledge of SharePoint authentication vs AD authentication issues
- SharePoint data model knowledge and experience in coding modules
- HOLDS AT LEAST A NATO SECRET CLEARANCE VALID FOR THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
- Language skills 4343

APPLICATION SUPPORT CONSULTANT (MIGRATION) (MICROSOFT)(SHAREPOINT) DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with analysing and documenting application installations and infrastructure dependencies;
- Experience with a migration of web applications from IIS7.5 to IIS8;
- Experience with migration of complex applications from one AD domain to another;
- Knowledge of key differences between Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012;
- Experience in 'hardening' SharePoint for Internet access, and how to connect an Internet user via a web access Firewall to SharePoint
