Application Support Analyst - Unix - Rates - Banking

A major investment bank is currently looking to grow its global Rates Support team as part of an exciting initiative to roll out a new in-house application.

As part of this growth, they are looking for an L1/L2 Application Support Analyst to provide business aligned support to the Rates markets. Working in a dynamic environment, you will provide support to the trading application and flows used by the Rates businesses.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in interacting with Front to back Business teams as well as a range of technical functions. As part of the role, you will be involved in: information gathering from development, expanding existing documentation for support procedures, assisting with the implementation/enhancement of monitoring tools in addition to day to day support.

Solid communication skills are therefore essential for this position. You will also need to have a proven background in application support in a client facing environment - preferably in Front Office investment banking.

With regards to technical skills, you will need to be highly competent in Unix/Solaris (navigation and common commands required to diagnose system/process health, ability to troubleshoot batch processing by reading scripts and/or writing scripts for monitoring purposes). You should also be comfotable working with Oracle/Sybase with regards to data updates, selects, reading etc.
