Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Application (SOA) Architect. The job holder leads the overall design and oversees the development of cross-functional, multi-platform applications systems. He/She develops application architecture and blueprints and defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. He/She also provides technical guidance to application development teams, consults on integration and conversion issues and participates in mapping technology-independent applications architecture to the chosen technology platform. The architect makes high-level design choices and may sometimes dictate technical standards, including coding standards, tools, or platforms, so as to advance business goals rather than to place arbitrary restrictions on the choices of developers. Software architects may also be engaged in the design of the architecture of the hardware environment, or may focus entirely on the design methodology of the code. Solutions Architect handles the interaction between the business and IT sides of an organization.

Description:
Serve in the role of a Solutions Delivery Architect in support of the large transformative initiatives in the Operations Technology Domain. The domain covers business processes such as Large Volume Check Processing, Statements Generation, Cash and Vault Management, Retail Lockbox/Remittance Solutions, Image Utilities and Document Archival/Content Management. This domain is experiencing massive transformation from a modernization, simplification and optimization perspective.
The Solutions Delivery Architect will support business initiatives and strategic efforts that focus on building and leveraging information assets to improve sales and service activities for our business partners.

The Solutions Architect will have the following responsibilities:
- Drive conceptual architecture design for new initiatives
- Ensure initiatives are adhering to strategic architecture principles
- Work with business partners to translate functional requirements into technical requirements
- Identify technical solutions to business problems and drive to resolution
- Participate in and drive cross-functional, cross discipline architecture teams to enhance/set the architectural direction for key business initiatives
- Participate in the continued definition of our target Strategy's
- Serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will significantly influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
- Experience with designing and implementing SOA, deploying services and registering in a centralized repository.
-Experience with designing and implementing highly resilient n-tier architectures, particularly using J2EE application and database technologies.
- Understanding of large batch processing
- Understanding of information architecture principles and how to model the information architecture of a solution
- Ability to create pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives which deliver short term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction
- Effectively Influence, Negotiate and lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations across the Technology and Line of Business organizations

Required Experience:
- At least 2+ years Application (SOA) Architecture
- Architecture frameworks
- Understand non-functional requirements and resiliency factors
- Someone who has already made the transition to being an architect
- MUST be an effective communicator
