Application Services Analyst

Background

Our Central Government Client is currently recruiting for a 3 month contract based in London.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

- You will be required to provide applications assurance and subject matter experts (SME) services for Business Apps and associated services across the client.
- As well as providing Applications assurance services, you are expected to provide a degree of governance and also act as an escalation point for service issues.

You will be a reference point for future demand and will work with the Account Managers, Suppliers and both internal teams and external partners to assess demand requirements and assist in assessing the suitability of the client's apps to run future services.

- This role requires a person with a strong service management life cycle experience and ability and willingness to engage with the customers.

Outputs/Deliverables to be achieved:
You will be responsible for providing assurance to business apps. Working with suppliers and other key stakeholders within the ICT team to ensures the overall functionality and performance of an application consistently meets the Business requirements for today and remains good enough for the future, and ensures the application is presented to the Business with the required availability at the correct price provide. The key tasks for the role are but not limited to below. Review all operational Requests For Change (RFC). Review and provide advice and guidance on Business Requests For Change (BRFC). Review and assist in prioritisation of risks and issues presented to Senior Management Team. Review and assist with updates to the Slide pack presented to the Senior Management Team. Services Team to validate costs and ensure value for money. Seek Service Management and Vendor Management approval for costed work. Review and validation of Major Incident Reports (MIRs) post Incident. Reporting. Where necessary, raise risks and issues on behalf of the Business community. Ensure that the Monthly Service Reports produced by Suppliers is a fair and accurate representation of the provisioned service

Skills/Experience Required
ESSENTIAL:
The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional.
You will possess strong communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.
Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
Is able to absorb new technical, commercial and business concepts quickly, and work with them.
Has recognised expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment.

DESIRABLE:
Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies.
Understanding of the Government and working in the public sector.
Demonstrated awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT.
Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT - eg Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy.
Understanding of the organisation's IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives and some awareness of comparable organisations.
Overall understanding of the skills or business units serviced by the IT areas supported.
ITIL V3 qualifications(s) or equivalent experience.
