Application Performance Engineer Job

APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Glendale, AZ.

Top Skills You Should Possess:

- Experience with configuration and operation of dynaTrace, dcRUM, or Gomez as applied to business application performance monitoring and triage diagnosis.
- Experience with deep application monitoring, diagnosis, analytics, APM, and User Experience Management.
- Basic Scripting knowledge including understanding of REGEX.
- Knowledge of multiple platforms and the technology to support them (ie, Windows, Linux, IIS, IHS, WAS, Tomcat).
- Knowledge of basic ITIL framework and processes.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Help profile and triage J2EE & .NET business applications.
- Make technical recommendations on application performance improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain reports/dashboards which meet business and IT requirements.
- Work closely with application development and production control teams during release rollouts to analyze application performance impact and provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage of business critical applications with APM tools.
- Assists with installation and upgrade of dynaTrace and other Compuware APM tools as needed.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five (3-5) years previous experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of the configuration of Compuware dynaTrace, GOMEZ, and dcRUM.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and approaches such as web services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Proficiency in tool and infrastructure internals, advanced analytics, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies deployed as part of new infrastructure.
- Ability to understand business and customer requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions.
- Willingness to perform on-call and after hours support as required.
- Ability to collaborate with peers, application teams, and project teams on complex projects and issues.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and balance conflicting priorities.
- Proficient in English written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
