Application Packaging Virtualisation Specialist (App-V5, SCCM, Citrix XenApp, Win7)

My financial services client in Dublin is looking for an Application Packaging Virtualisation Specialist for an initial 7 month contract.

Duties:
*Assess the applications identified by the customer as being not compatible to Win 7
*Recommend an approach, where possible, to make an application Win 7 compatible and/or virtualized
*Review non virtualized MSI applications and assess options to Virtualize.
*Provide best practices and guidance on existing packaging standards for Virtualizing applications
*Liaise with incumbent packaging team and applications lead to progress complex applications through packaging
*Provide overall SME support and guidance to incumbent packaging team and packaging lead

Essential Skills:
*Win 7 application compatibility tools and processes
*Application Virtualization (App-V 5) technology/solution
*Application packaging and provisioning for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
*Application shims
*AppDNA
*In depth knowledge of application packaging life cycle

Desirable Skills:
*Windows XP Mode
*Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V)
*Knowledge of Application Deployment Technologies such as SCCM
*Application Discovery tools and techniques for identifying applications in-scope for application life cycle
*Understanding of the business engagement required for business application portfolio optimisation
*Environment architecture for application packaging and UAT.
