App-V application packager required for initial 6 month contract with multinational company with operations based in South Dublin
My client are currently upgrading their Citrix Environment which includes the migration of over 300 Application in 20 countries from Citrix 5 (Server 2003) to a new Citrix 6.5 (Server 2008) environment. These applications will be packaged using AppV by a 3rd party supplier and supplied back for testing and rollout to production. Our Configuration Management team, based in Dublin, have a requirement for a skilled AppV packager to join their team to validate the quality & standards of the packaging being produced, to put in place processes & procedures in the Change Management team to work with AppV packaged software and to provide input and guidance to the Citrix Project team. This is an initial 6 months contract.
The skills required are:- * Demonstrable strong experience of AppV and MSI packaging
* Excellent working knowledge of Windows 7
* Knowledge or experience of Configuration Management processes
* Windows 8 experience would be advantageous
* Group Policy experience and how it can control applications
* Experience of using programming tools such as PowerShell and VB Scripting
* Experience of managing File and DLL/OCX conflicts
* AppSense experience beneficial
* Knowledge of application life cycle
* An in-depth knowledge of registry
* Awareness of Test strategies
* Identification of risks and issues
* Excellent problem solver
* Strong understanding of troubleshooting application issues and tools
* Process Monitor
* Process Explorer
* WinDBG
* Dependancy Explorer
