Application Operations Support

45hrs week x 26 weeks.

Excellent knowledge of UNIX/Solaris/Linux. High level admin tasks, jumpstarting, etc.

Comfortable at the command prompt, Shell Scripting, Perl, AWK, etc.

Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify problems and restore service.

Basic networking knowledge/skills

At least one of these Working knowledge of wireless telephony. AAA Radius knowledge, 3GPP, roaming, etc.

Network+ level of knowledge - (VLAN concepts, subnetting, TCP/IP model, NAT, etc) - CCNA preferred

Previous experience with operational application support desirable.

This is an application operations position. These systems allow wireless devices to send/receive data. If these systems are not available, wireless phones stop working. Service restoral must occur as soon as possible, then follow-up to prevent outage from re-occurring.
Candidate should possess advanced Shell Scripting experience and the ability to create moderately complicated SQL queries. Candidate will be required to perform application and OS troubleshooting on both Linux and Solaris environments.
AAA Radius knowledge and experience is a plus
Position requires candidate to eventually participate in an on call rotation where they will be on call every 5 weeks.
