Application Environment Co-Ordinator and L2 Support Role

Role Responsibilities:

This new role will person will have the following responsibilities
1. Come up to speed on how the application works, at a system level, including how the various component parts relate to each other.
2. Come up to speed on the various test and PROD environments
3. Assess any requests to make changes to environments
4. Take ownership/co-ordinate technical changes in these environments
may involve initiating changes or assessing/monitoring changes by other teams

This will involve raising & tracking tickets using internal processes
1. Keep environment documentation up to date
2. Provide a service to the developers in terms of tracking tickets on their behalf
3. Come up to speed on common application issues, how to interpret logs and how to resolve
4. Perform L2 troubleshooting (system level, not code level) in both test and PROD enviorments

Experience:
Min 4 years experience in the IT industry

Skills:
1. Technology Skills/Primary Skills
R = Required/A = Advantageous
a. R: Understanding of web applications, URLs, HTTP, web Servers etc
b. A: Experience with browser based diagnostic tools (Firebug/Chrome developer tools/Fiddler)
c. A: Experience of unix/Shell Scripting
d. A: Experience of any programming language
e. A: Some knowledge of SQL

2. Soft Skills/Secondary Skills
a. R: Very comfortable with technology
b. R: Good communication skills (verbal & documentation)
c. R: Strong attention to detail
d. R: Willingness to learn and understand the system architecture
e. A: Experience working in a large organisation and exposure to the sort of processes that involved in such an entity
