Application Engineer Wanted

We are currently searching for a technical application specialist to work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 6 months + extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large multi-national client.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills:

Deliverables/Tasks

- Resolve incidents and problems using our call system
- Keep track of changes within the application, arrange the required changes to the operating system of the webservers and applications serversLinux OS; Unix Shell Scripting
- Apply releases, changes and updates in close cooperation with other technical or sales departments
- Participate in projects for changing existing or implementing new functionality
- Bring forward ideas for improvement in areas of stability and performance
- Technical Knowledge
- Sound knowledge and experience in the following areas is a must:
- Sun Solaris and Linux OS; Unix Shell Scripting - know command linesPL*SQL
- Jboss, Apache, Java/jsp
- Tomcat, SunOne
- Knowledge of relational databases (preferably Oracle)
- Application tuning - ability to read the technical components/parameters
