Application Engineer JAVA J2EE Websphere

For a leading Banking client in Brussels we are currently looking for an Application Engineer to join a team within Capital Markets. You need to have solid experience in WebSphere and Java J2EE Development. The objective of the role is to support in-house developed and package based applications used by front and Back Office users world wide.

Mandatory Skills Required

You have a professional experience with application setup, maintenance & support

You have a professional experience in architecture design and implementation on various platforms

You have an excellent understanding of the Windows and Unix operating systems and are able to:

- Do some basic administration
- Debug issues
- Understand and write scripts
- Understand how security is setup
- Indentify improvements

You have a professional experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server and are able to:

- Debug issues with the database (together with the DBA team)
- Understand, write and debug SQL queries
- Indentify improvements

Preferable:
- You are capable of troubleshooting applications with your network knowledge.

An Application Engineer is able to talk to different teams (DBA, Network, System Engineer) with the appropriated "language".

- You hold competences in following fields:
- IBM WEBSPHERE MESSAGE BROKER PROGRAMMING
- JAVA & J2EE ENVIRONMENT
- WEBSPHERE APPLICATION SERVER
- ORACLE/SQL SERVER
