Application Engineer

JOB TITLE: Application Engineer
TYPE: Contract- 12 Months
LOCATION: Mountain View, CA 94043

Our client is seeking an Application Engineer for a 12 month contract position in Mountain View, CA. This position will join our client's education department, which provides training and documentation on technologies and best practices. The Application Engineer will build systems to make that training and documentation easier to find, create, evaluate, and maintain. The candidate should have Javascript, Python, and App Engine experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design, implement, test, launch, and support systems that support content developers and engineers.
- Create elegant web applications and rock-solid backends.
- Develop tools and processes to support information findability and automate document creation, organization, and maintenance.
- Develop tools to analyze the effectiveness of training.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience. MS or PhD a plus.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering best practices.
- Mastery of one or more modern programming languages and experience with Python, JavaScript, and App Engine.
- A passion for education is a plus, as is teaching experience with university or professional students.
