Projektbeschreibung

The Professional Support Unit (PSU) provides non-transactional professional services to three of the Research Councils, namely the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC), including Finance, HR, IS, Project Office and Reprographics and is hosted by AHRC.

DUTIES:

Handling second/third line support incidents via an incident management system in accordance with agreed SLA's
Implementing system change requests in line with change management processes
Undertaking development of new systems
Offering advice and recommendations to customers for improvements and adherence to best practices
Establish testing documentation and processes and development, customisation and upgrade regression and unit testing
Provide management information reports relating to system performance and other ad-hoc reporting

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Experience of working in a customer focused support environment
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Microsoft .NET technologies (Visual Studio, .NET framework, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#)
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of SQL Server
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of LINQ and SQL Server Reporting Services
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of XML/XSLT
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Web Services
Demonstrable knowledge and use of source control repositories (SourceSafe, Team Foundation Server, Git)
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
Proven track record of managing conflicting and competing priorities effectively, and the ability to deliver results within set timeframes.
Committed to collaborative approaches with colleagues and to deliver excellent results within time and resource constraints.
Proven ability to create clear documentation
Knowledge and experience of good development, deployment and support practices including testing, code version control and automated deployment.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

ITIL V3 Foundation
Working knowledge of JavaScript
Knowledge and use of Jenkins or Hudson
Experience of working in an environment with controlled processes (eg ISO9001, ISO27001)

The PSU is cross council functional organisation which is hosted by AHRC. Appointments to positions within the PSU are made subject to AHRC terms and conditions of employment.
