Application Developer

Our high profile client is looking for an exceptional Application Support Developer. Located in the M4 corridor, you will be reporting to the Application Support Team Leader. The successful candidate will possess all of the technical skills required and will combine them with an excellent business facing commercial manor.

The Application support team is responsible for all our clients' Back End applications in the UK.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Provide 3rd level application support for all business areas including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Services
- Understanding, improving and maintaining all existing applications including technologies such as Spring, JSP's, Oracle and Perl
- Implementing high quality enhancements that meet coding standards
- Produce reports, perform live updates and apply high priority fixes.
- Data loading from 3rd party providers

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good planning skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Knowledge of database design concepts
- Knowledge of Unix (Solaris), Perl and Shell Scripting
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Experience with developer tools such as Idea, Toad & Photoshop.
