Application Designer for CSC IT Systems

Your New role:-

- Architecture and design of information systems.
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design and development of component architecture and building blocks
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Data analysis and Datamodelling.
- Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
- Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
- Production of software architecture documents
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting Depending on the circumstances, the expert may be requested to provide assistance or support in the resolution of production issues.

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:-
Education and professional experience:

- Minimum 15 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in architecture and design of information systems
- Minimum 2 years experience in development of information systems
- Minimum 2 years experience with UML or Case Tools

Experience in development:

- Experience in Service Bus Architecture
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience in web technologies
- In-depth knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- In depth knowledge of applications design
- In depth knowledge of modelling tools
- Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
- Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
- Knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good redaction skills.
- Ability to give technical presentations.
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team. Knowledge of programming principles and experience in procedural programming or Scripting languages, such as Visual Basic, C, or JavaScript; understanding of object-oriented languages, such as C++ or C#, is an advantage.

Desirable Skills:- Knowledge and experience in development of Back End EJB and/or web services in a SOA environment

AND/OR

- Experience in particular UI development based on GWT. (More specific experience with the Vaadin framework is an asset)
- Knowledge of development methodologies (eg RUP, SCRUM) and modelling (eg UML)
- Experienced in JEE and XML technologies.
- Some experience and knowledge required of EJB3 technology.
- Experience with Oracle Database querying (SQL)
- Experience in using relevant development tools such as Eclipse
- Experience with the Rational Team Concert and Rational Requirement

Composer tools will be an asset.

Personal skills

- Capability of working in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working are mandatory.
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings (FR-EN)
- Fluent in English, knowledge of French will be an asset
