Application Deployment Specialist - Appsense

Our client is seeking an experienced Application Specialist for the design and maintenance of specialised, purpose built business applications and tools.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- The integration of software products into existing software environments to produce new platform-specific versions of the software products.
- Leading a team and providing expert technical knowledge in the systems testing of platform-specific versions of the software products, on varying platforms.
- Providing specialist guidance information to support, systems testing and quality assurance functions to assist in improving procedures.
- Ensuring availability of hardware, software, and resources for the systems testing of platform-specific versions of one or more software products.
- Defining configurations required for testing with reference to agreed testing standards.
- Evaluating new developments in the organisation and the industry and advises senior management on potential growth, problem areas and resourcing needs.
- Ensuring adherence to agreed standards and good practice.

To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

- Ability to undertake software design and develop software design documentation in line with functional or application-specific requirements.
- Develop detailed and complex software code as part of application programming activities.
- Develop integration and unit test scripts derived from software requirements and conduct application software testing.
- Provide expert technical advice on application issues, and manage the resolution of incidents during and after applications development.
- Recommend improvements in processes to support the reduction of inefficiencies or variances, and to achieve consistent and best practice delivery of application support activities.
- Knowledge of Non-Windows based Operating Systems (Linux, Solaris, Mac)
- Experience with Patch Management and Endpoint Protection Security
- Hands on experience in AppSense Application Manager & AppSense Performance Manager
- Expertise in Citrix XenApp 5 & 6, Citrix presentation server 4.5
- Hands on experience in Citrix XenDesktop 4.x/5.x
- Support experience in a VDI infrastructure utilising Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix Provisioning Services
- Solid technical understanding of Presentation Server Core technologies (eg Windows TSs, CSG, WI, DDC, RM DB, Clients)
- Hands on experience with NetScaler v7000
