For one of our clients, we're looking for an "Application DeploymentExpert"
Context

The company is considering the improvement of its client applicationdeployment methodology covering its user-base (about 2.150 PCs).
Internal workshops have identified a number of actions which couldimprove the current client application deployment process.
The company has decided to request external expertise to take the nextstep in identifying the detailed needs of all the stake-holdersinvolved in the current process and analysing these needs with a viewto improvement.
This analysis is to be used in implementing a better process.
This mission is a one shot operation and will not be followed by anyother request for proposal. Selection criteria

Respondents should adhere to the following criteria:

-Demonstrate a track of expertise on mid to large-sized clientapplication deployment processes in Enterprise and Mission Criticalenvironments
-Be knowledgeable about Windows clients' application deployment tools.

The mission will take the form of an on-site (in Brussels) assessment,performed by a consultant whose skills are listed as follows.

Desired skills:-
Functional Skills
-Business Processes: Experience in process development with ability toanalyse the impact of technical changes on business processes and viceversa.
-Security: Knowledge of the impact of security policies and constraintson application provisioning.
-Communication: Consultant must be able to communicate either attechnical or CxO level and describe concepts in concise documentation.
-Consultant should have clear notions of cost and effort estimationwith respect to activities to be performed both in an implementationphase and in a subsequent operational phase.
-Consultant's experience in helping to build a business case based onquality improvement would also be appreciated

Technical Skills
-Desktop Architecture: Knowledge of fixed and mobile based workstations.
-Desktop Applications Architecture: Knowledge of server/clientapplication architecture & configurations.
-Client Application Deployment Tools: Experience with automatedprovisioning of software packages. Experience with Altiris and SCCM andWindows packaging is needed. Experience of 'self-service' applicationdeployment methods (eg app store) is an advantage.
-Application Development: Experience with Microsoft ALM solutions (egTFS) is advantageous.
-Operating Systems: Experience in Windows (7 and XP) based clients
-Networking: Experience in client networking (fixed & wireless[WiFi & 3G]) technologies and their impact on applicationdeployments.

Deliverables
The results of the needs and analysis shall be described in a document.Among the topics that the document may cover, the following areconsidered as mandatory:-
-Requirements traceability Matrix
-Analysis summary
-Detailed analysis description
-Conclusions
-Recommended next steps with
-Estimations of effort to perform recommendations
-A shortlist of related risks, both opportunities and threats.

Total Workload

For this mission, the company estimates a workload of maximum 15-20man-days.
