Application Architect - Java, SOAP, XML, XSD, JAX-WS, JAXB

We are looking for an Application Architect with 12 years of experience in order to work at the European Commission.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

a. Coordination of updates to the "Common data model". This is a collection of XSD files which describe data types returned by web services.
b. Provision of advice and guidelines to the development teams on technology choices.
c. Configuration of mappings and policies on the "Oracle Service Bus".
d. Analysis and design of Services implementations in SOA context
e. Coordination of releases of inter-dependant applications and web-services.
f. Analysis and design of Events production and consumption in EDA context
g. Analysis and design of system interfaces, integration patterns, technological components
h. Implementation of those technological components, following design phases, in respect of requirements
i. Prototyping of technical components, system integration patterns
j. Definition of tests scenarios and testing
k. Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system
l. Documentation of the services and other technical implementations
m. Assist with evaluating and testing products delivered by other teams to ensure that they conform to requirements and methodology (The present list of general activities is not exhaustive.)

REQUIREMENTS:

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE

a. Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture, in particular SOAP based web services
b. Experienced with standards/APIs: XML, XSD, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB, (possibly also JAX-RPC)
c. Detailed understanding of XML, especially editing of XSD schema definitions.
d. A broad understanding of Java Enterprise Frameworks
e. Willingness to mix technical work with documentation and coordination.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The following technical skills would be advantageous:

a. Oracle Service Bus configuration
b. Weblogic Server
c. Ant, Maven, Hudson scripting.
d. Experienced with tools: Eclipse/Workshop 10.3, Ant, SoapUI
e. Familiar/experienced with EJB3, JPA, Hibernate
f. Familiar/experienced with WSP (WS-Security Policies)
g. Familiar/experienced with BPMS or BPEL developments

LANGUAGES:

It will be mandatory to have a fluent ENGLISH in order to work at the European Commission.
