APPLICATION ARCHITECT - J2EE, JSP, MVC, STRUTS, SPRING, WEBLOGIC, UML, AGILE

For a project with the European Commission in Brussels we are looking for an Application Architect.

INTRODUCTION
In the context of the AGORA system, DG EMPL needs an Application Analyst to assist in the development of new tool. The system needs to integrate with multiple other systems (HERMES, CIRCABC, E-PASS, WEBDOR, etc.)
The person will help developing new modules and the evolution of the existing ones in the context of DEFIS for the integration with PDM/URF because of the rationalization exercise on grant management.

TASKS

- Architecture and design of new information systems
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design of component architecture and building blocks
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Follow up of the data analysis and Datamodelling.
- Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
- Technical interface between the project leaders and the analysts
- Production of software architecture documents
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting

REQUESTED KNOWLEDGE:

- In depth knowledge of multi-tier Java applications design (JSP, Servlets, MVC, Struts/Spring, Spring Roo, Weblogic)
- In depth knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Good knowledge of modelling tools (eg UML)
- Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
