APPLICATION ARCHITECT (ETL, DATA WAREHOUSE, QA) - BRUSSELS, BELGIUM

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum of 5 years of recent practical experience in IT systems architecture and design
- Capability for modelling components, data and services
- Demonstrated experience in/with ETL and data analysis
- Understand the ETL code to ensure quality of data produced
- Understand the source data available and map sources to the target design using a variety of tools
- Extensive hands-on experience with leading reporting and visualization tools
- Experience in IT software development:
- SYSTEMS ANALYSIS
- DATA WAREHOUSING
- ETL
- QA AREAS
- Experience with database development, administration, debugging, and tuning in SQL Server
- Capability for specification of service interfaces, service data and reference models
- Good knowledge of interoperability technology:
- Web services
- Message oriented Middleware
- Service oriented bus
- Capable of modelling service data and reference models
- Good knowledge of service implementation patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, request/response), distributed system design and messaging layer
- Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies used in application architecture
- Experience in architecture modelling tools
- Deep technical knowledge of IT technology:
- Business Intelligence and Analytics software: SAS, Tableau
- SQL Coding/Querying skills
- Interoperability: SOA, ESB, MOM
- Master Data Management
- IT protocols: MQ Series, WS, HTTP(S), SMTP, SNMP
- EDIFACT, XML, XSLT
- Identity and Access Management

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

- Work closely with the external contractors' data warehouse team to translate business requirements and logical data models into working databases, including relational and dimensional (star-schema) designs
- Provide expertise working with data to solve operational and analytical use cases
- Develop and makes changes to reporting environment using tools
- Participate in the design review processes, while providing technical advice, support, and mentorship to other team members
- Understand, apply and suggest improvements of methodology, security policies, tools, best practices, etc.
- Ensure that the systems, components and/or services' design is consistent with architecture (eg consistency with a framework)
- Analyse the integration of different information systems and ensure their interoperability
- Produce and/or review documents, including system and application architecture documents
