Application Architect / Designer at EU Institutions in Brussels

CONTEXT
Within the context of the development and deployment of a financial management module application our client needs the on-site support by a dedicated team to develop, test, debug, deploy, analyse and provide support. Assistance will also be required for issues related to interfaces between the corporate system.

PROVISIONAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

The work consists of tasks related mainly to the Back Office applications. Tasks related to the deployment of both the front and back office applications and modules are also foreseen. The priorities of the daily tasks will be managed by the project manager.

The main tasks that should be developed, supported and/or analysed within this mission are the following:
- Analysis, design, validation and implementation of appropriate technology solutions and architecture improvements
- Provide assistance and perform the implementation of the reference architecture;
- User Interface model based on Vaadin components;
- Address performance issues;
- Enrich and improve the interfaces
- Draw and implement web-services;
- Implement production improvements for the DGs
- Define, write and maintain technical analysis and architecture documents with the highest standards;
- Integrate User and Security Management module;
- Align the back-office with the evolution of the modules in the front-office;
- Animation of and participation in weekly status meetings.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
A minimum of 9 years of cumulated specific expertise, as follows:
- Minimum 1 year in Enterprise Architecture;
- Minimum 2 years in SOA;
- Minimum 4 years in Web-Services;
- Minimum 6 years in JAVA;
- Minimum 4 years in Oracle;
- Minimum 1 year in integration of applications.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED
- Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture;
- Knowledge of Oracle SOA suite, Oracle Service Bus;
- Knowledge of Vaadin components;
- In-depth knowledge of J2EE (EJB/Spring) development tools;
- Good knowledge of Java/JSP;
- Good knowledge of Oracle databases;
- Knowledge of RTC and Maven;
- Knowledge of BEA WebLogic;
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems;
- In-depth knowledge of integration, build and test tools;
- Capability to work in team in a multicultural and multilingual environment;
- Capabilities to draft documents in English and hold meetings and keep the minutes;
- Knowledge of financial regulation and/or accounting information systems of the European Commission would be an asset.
