We are currently recruiting for a Application Architect/Designer for our client based in Brussels, Belgium -
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
Task 1: assistance with the conception, design and assessment of Information Systems architecture, including in particular their SOA-based interoperability
Task 2: expert advice and coaching on the Information Systems architecture and technologies
Task 3: elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis related to the area of expertise presented as proof of concepts through the life cycle of the project.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
The work will be carried out on a Full time basis at the Commission's premises in Brussels. The service providers will have frequent meetings with the Commission's services located in Luxemburg via video conferencing. Occasional meetings in the Commission's premises in Luxembourg may be organised upon request.
The technology environment is as follows:
- The portal will rely on HTML5, AJAX framework such as bootstrap, REST web services.
- Interoperability is achieved based on SOA principles and Oracle Service Bus.
- The development is adhering to the Java-based EC reference architecture based on spring, spring mvc, jpa, hibernate, jax-ws, and jsf.
- Data is stored in Oracle Database 11g.
- Development is based on Rational Unified Process and the Rational Tools (eg Team Concert, Software Modeller, Software Architect and Requisite Pro).
The working languages are both English and French.
REQUIREMENTS
The candidates shall have:
- The experience stated in the listed skill set
- Practical experience proving the capability to execute the tasks
- Good knowledge of English (spoken, written) and if possible, of French (spoken, written).
- Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
- Proactive attitude, communicative (ie good listener) and customer-oriented.
- Expert level knowledge in the following areas:
- Architecture of the information systems with a focus on Interoperability
- WebLogic Application Server, Oracle Service Bus, Java EE technologies
- A functional knowledge of the Grant Management Programmes of the European Commission would be an asset
Required specific expertise (level 5):
- Experience in Information Systems Architecture using SOA in a J2EE environment
